1. Whiten Your Smile
Let’s start with what is one of the most common requests we receive. As people get older, it’s normal for their teeth to become yellower or darker. So many foods and drinks add to these stains, it’s almost inevitable that your teeth will lose their pearly whiteness with time.
This is why we offer KöR and Opalescence at our practice. These are two of the most effective professional teeth whitening options you will find. We also offer take-home whitening options that are superior to anything you will find in any store.
And be sure to ask about our whitening for life.
Not all tooth discolorations are the result of stains, however. In those situations, dental veneers give you another option for creating a bright, white smile again.
Veneers are like covers that bond to the front of your teeth to change their appearance. As you will see below, they can do more than whiten your smile.
2. Create A Straighter Smile
Along with stained teeth, having crooked teeth is one of the common reasons patients tell us they are self-conscious about their smiles.
For many patients, dental veneers can help with this issue as well. Each set of veneers is custom-made for that patient. For this reason, your veneers can be made to give you the appearance of a perfectly straight smile.
And if you are a good candidate for veneers, this can be done in a matter of weeks instead of the years it might take with orthodontic care.
3. Close Gaps Between Your Teeth
The technical term for that extra space between your teeth is diastema. This is most common between the two teeth at the center of your smile. It can occur between any two teeth, however, and some people have these gaps in multiple places in their mouths.
This is another situation in which veneers can be a valuable service. If you would like to close one or more spaces, we can design veneers so that all your teeth appear to have equal space between them.
Veneers are not your only solution for this particular problem, however.
Dental bonding can be equally effective for many patients. Bonding involves the application of a composite resin to your teeth. After the resin hardens, we can reshape and polish it so it blends in with your smile.
Veneers are generally more durable than bonding. We would be happy to answer any questions you have about either of these services.
4. Fix Your Gummy Smile
So far, we have focused on ways to change your teeth, but your teeth are not the only thing that can make you feel self-conscious about your smile.
Some people are hesitant to smile because when they do, their gums are much more noticeable than their teeth. If you come to Hillcrest Dental Care, we can take care of this with our laser gum reshaping.
There was a time when gum reshaping was only done with a scalpel. Dr. Thrasher wants our treatments to be effective, but our patients’ comfort is just as important to us. That’s why we offer laser treatments instead.
By using a laser, we can remove excess gum tissue without cutting into your gums. The end result is a shorter recovery time and a smile that reveals more of your beautiful teeth.
