Tooth removal and extractions require that the patient is totally comfortable for that procedure. It's one of the things that they dread and so, the way we keep those patients comfortable is, we start them out on the and get them very relaxed. We use sedation, when appropriate. So, in other words, they can be sedated for that procedure. We're still going to get them numb so they're not going to feel anything. They're not going to remember anything. After a tooth has been removed, there's several options for the patient. Option one would be just to have a missing space or having a missing tooth. It's not recommended, but that's an option because things are going to happen, teeth are going to shift, there’s other complications that are going to happen down the road, in the future. Replacing the missing tooth would involve either a bridge, which is connecting to the teeth on either side of the space—a permanent bridge. A dental implant, which is the new standard of care, that would be the best option and the strongest and the longest lasting. And, in some cases, if there are multiple missing teeth and nothing for a permanent bridge to anchor to, or the implants were not a choice for the patients, then we can do removable, partial denture-type appliances that will replace missing teeth.
Removing a troublesome tooth can:

- Allow you to enjoy a fully functioning smile with a replacement tooth or full set of replacement teeth
